The Twin Cities Metro Baptist Association is entering a partnership
with the North American Mission Board (SBC) for an initiative known
as Strategic Focus Cities (SFC). Our city is one of ten U.S. cities
identified by NAMB as having potential for involvement in the SFC
initiative which can make a major impact on the city. SFC involves
many entities such as the North American Mission Board, State
Conventions, LifeWay, Associations, Local Churches, and local
businesses and organizations of like faith. There is also a large
network of churches and individuals across North America who join
hands and hearts with the cities engaged in this effort.
The SFC initiative has two phases: A preparatory phase which has to
do with church-strengthening, and the actual SFC event which has a city-reaching
focus. Our association is entering the first phase, the preparatory
phase, and will need to show progress and readiness to enter the
second, city-reaching, phase. Whether or not the association goes on
to phase two, the preparatory phase will be of great benefit.
